This study is an attempt at conceptualizing rather than identifying youth participation. It gives a general overview of the urgency of an effective youth participation in the planning, policy-formulation, and decision-making processes in a changing world where the young people are faced with various emerging global challenges. Also, it provides a conceptual ground to better understand the meaning of both youth participation and empowerment. It further analyses the importance of youth development and its linkage to the overall development of communities and society at large.
